xorg.conf-ban Screen section-nél beállítod, hogy milyen felbontások legyenek (az első az alap), ill. a Monitor section-nél meg beállítod a monitorodnak megfelelő vízszintes és függőleges képfrissítést.

Így az adott alap felbontás melletti legnagyobb elérhető képfrissítéssel fog elindulni az X.
