Szia!
First, I apologize for this being in English – I don’t know Hungarian (I’m learning though). Also, if this is in the wrong forum, moderators, please move it accordingly.
I’m currently trying to get GPRS access via Linux. I’m using an Alcatel 715 mobile on Vodafone HU’s GPRS service, connected via IrDA to my laptop running Slack 9.1/kernel 2.6.0-test11.
I have no problems communicating with the phone. An irdadump shows connectivity is not an issue. Using wvdial, and numerous different config scripts from around the net, I am getting NOTHING. Per instructions from Vodafone HU’s support (well, their Windows support anyway), I have iptables disabed as they claim that firewalls interfere with the connection (I have no idea why – any insights?).
Does ANYONE out there use GPRS with Vodafone to connect to the net? What ppp program or scripts are you using? Can you use both the compressed apn (internet) and uncompressed apn (I dont remember it right now)?
I’m getting rather frustrated with it, and I’m looking for any help that you might have.
