January 11, 2007Installation and development system setup.
Development system in VMware Server 1.0.0.2
Updated Firefox from 0.8 to version 2.0
Changed libbe.so to report Max V4 and updated BeOS Max logo

January 12, 2007Stuck with an external problem after I updated my Suse Linux 10.1 OS. I lost my NVidia support!!! I am in command line mode now, but I don’t have time to fix it today

January 13, 2007Couldn’t compile the NVidia driver due to some packaging problems. However I did manage to get back to GUI, although I now have only 1 screen, so it is harder to work, because I now have to switch windows/Desktops. Tomorrow afternoon I will get back to working on BeOS Max V4.

Added Yab 1.0
Added VMWare graphics driver
Plans: Upgrade drivers, and try the HAIKU usb driver. For this I will need to install on real hardware.

March 17, 2007Added USB Patches for UHCI and OHCI support. Hopefully this will add more hardware you can use like mice, keyboards and external Hard disks.

SimplyMEPIS 6.5 RC3 adds Beryl 0.2.0 Final and Installer Translations
„Morgantown, WV, Mar 23, 2007 — SimplyMEPIS 6.5 RC3 has been uploaded to the MEPIS subscribers pool and propagated to the public mirrors. This release includes Beryl 0.2.0 Final, Amarok 1.4.4.4, translations for the MEPIS Installer,and an improvement for bcm43xx support.
Warren Woodford explains the bcm43xx change „We discovered that some users were confused about whether to use the bcm43xx driver or ndiswrapper. Also there are conflicting instructions online at other sites. So I added an option in the MEPIS Network Asssitant to easily set the configuration variables to the settings that are most likely to work. The MEPIS Documentation Team has updated the detailed info at the MEPIS Wiki to fully explain the options for using MEPIS and Linux with Broadcom wireless.”
As a result of user requests, Amarok has been updated to 1.4.4.4. This is the most recent version of Amarok which is fully compatible with the 6.0 foundation used by the MEPIS 6.x series of releases. 1.4.4.4 integrates with the acclaimed Magnatune Music Store. This update is in the MEPIS 6.5 pools and should work equally well for MEPIS and Ubuntu Dapper users.
MEPIS has begun a new internationalization initiative. So far, the MEPIS Translation Team has provided German, Spanish, French, Dutch, and Brazilian Portuguese translations for the MEPIS Installer. These are included in RC3.
i386 and amd64 ISO images of RC3 are available in the ‘testing’ subdirectory at the MEPIS Subscriber’s Site and at the MEPIS public mirrors. It is believed that this will be the last RC release and that MEPIS 6.5 will go final within a week.
Satisfied users are encouraged to make a contribution or make a purchase at the MEPIS store. User support helps offset the costs of producing this MEPIS release and funds further development of MEPIS Linux.„
